What is Fat Chance seeding?
Normal seeding places players in strict Glicko rank order. Fat Chance seeding keeps the top seeds locked (configurable above) by skill, but randomizes players within each group of seeds after that — so seeds 9–12 are shuffled, 13–16 are shuffled, and so on. This means a seed 12 player might end up in a seed 9 spot, creating more exciting and unpredictable early matchups while still protecting top players from each other. Named after local legend Fat Chance, who inspired the format.

Bucket modes:
Fixed size — every bucket after the frozen top is the same size (e.g. 4, 4, 4, 4…).
Bracket tiers — buckets mirror expected placement ranges in a standard bracket: 9–12 (4), 13–16 (4), 17–24 (8), 25–32 (8), 33–48 (16), 49–64 (16), 65–96 (32), and so on. Players are only shuffled with others who would be expected to finish in the same placement range.
